48th Annual Convention

About the Jalsa Salana
The Jalsa Salana is the annual three-day general meeting of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Germany. With over 40,000 visitors, it is the largest regular gathering of Muslims in Europe. The history of the Jalsa Salana dates back to after 1891 when the founder of the reform movement, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Qadiani (as) first proclaimed the Jalsa Salana in Qadian (India). At that time, 75 members of the congregation attended. Since then, the Jalsa Salana has become firmly established in many countries around the world. For example, over 200,000 visitors attended the last Jalsa Salana in Pakistan, in 1983.
Objectives, Purpose & Blessings of Jalsa Salana
„The primary purpose of this Convention is to enable every sincere individual to personally experience religious benefits; They may enhance their knowledge and – due to their being blessed and enabled by Allah, The Exalted – their perception [of Allah] may progress. Among its secondary benefits is that this congregational meeting together will promote mutual introduction among all brothers, and it will strengthen the fraternal ties within this Community.“
Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Qadiani (as), (Ishtihar 7 Dec. 1892, Majmoo`ah Ishtiharat Vol. I, Page 340)
Jalsa Salana in Germany
The first Jalsa Salana in Germany took place in 1975 on the grounds of the Fazl-e-Omar Mosque in Hamburg. After the headquarters for Germany was moved to Frankfurt, the Jalsa Salana was also moved to this area.
With the ever-increasing number of members, the congregation bought a larger property („Nasir Bagh“) in Groß-Gerau and also held the Jalsa Salana there from 1985.
However, this place soon became too small, so that from 1995 the Jalsa Salana took place on the Maimarkt grounds in Mannheim. However, the increasing demands on organization and logistics made it necessary that the Maimarktgelände had to be given up as an event location after a few years. Since 2011, the Jalsa Salana Germany has therefore been held at the exhibition center in Karlsruhe. It is attended annually by around 40,000 members and friends of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.
Since the corona pandemic, the first Jalsa Salana took place in 2021 on the Maimarkt grounds in Mannheim.
